INDIAN FESTIVALS

Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated largely in North India, especially in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh, during the month of Chaitra, to commemorate the birth of Hanuman, the monkey god, who was an ardent devotee of Lord Rama. The festival is especially important to Brahmacharis, wrestlers and bodybuilders, since Hanuman is regarded as the symbol of strength and energy.
