AMITAV GHOSH
Amitav Ghosh (b. 1956) is a renowned modern novelist, whose first novel, The Circle of Reason (1986) has been translated into several European languages, and won the Prix Medici Estranger, a top French literary award. His other novel The Shadow Lines won the Sahitya Akademi award. His other novels are In An Antique Land (1992 and Calcutta Chromosome.
