TRIBES OF INDIA

India is reportted to have had human occupation as far back as some 14 million years ago. Many tribes inhabit India that may nowhere be as old as that, but very much maintain their identity. The government of India too has done much to ensure that they thrive and supports the tribes of India through special legislations in the Constitution.

India is has so many tribes that we have, for the sake of convienience, grouped them alphabetically. There may still be some tribe that may not have been covered by us. We would be glad if that is brought to our notice.
