Shivaji Ganesan  

Veteran Tamil film actor, who has about 300 films to his credit, has been awarded with the Dada Saheb Phalke Award for 1996. His first film was Parasakthi followed by Kappalotia Thamizan, Veerapandiya Kattabomman, Theivamagan, Thirisoolam and others. He got the best actor award for the film Veerapandiya Kattaboman in the Afro-Asian film festival in Cairo. The French Government honoured him with the Chevalier award.
