Ezhava Movement:

Ezhava Movement was started in the early 20th century by Narayan Guru, who belonged to the ‘Ezhavas’, an untouchable caste of Kerala, with the objective of fighting against the caste system.

Justice Movement:

Justice Movement was an intermediate caste movement launched in Chennai around 1915-16 by C.N. Mudaliar, T.M. Nair and P. Thyagaraja on behalf of intermediate castes like Mudaliars, Chettairs, Reddys, Kammas and Nairs to counter the predominance of Brahmans in various fields.

Mahar Movement:

Mahar Movement was started by Dr. B.R.Ambedkar in late 1920s for upliftment of the untouchable Mahar castes of Maharashtra.

Satyashodhak Movement:

Satyashodhak Movement was started by Jyotiba Phule in Maharashtra in 1873  who claimed to “save the lower castes from the Brahmins and their opportunistic scriptures”.

Self-Respect Movement:

Self-Respect Movement was a radical movement that was started by E.V.Ramaswamy ‘Periyar’ in 1925 in Chennai against the Brahmin domination.
